And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (Ge 3:15)
He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever. (Lu 1:54-55 )
** What do you think about a scenario where the only “beings” on the earth are Avinu, Yeshua and the “seed of Avraham”?
For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.(Heb 2:16)
** Avinu could have chosen to “appear” as anything that He wanted to be. His “promise” to Avraham dictated that He come as “the seed of Avraham” that through Him all of “the seed” and eventually all of the nations will be saved!
1 And Yeshua entered and passed through Jericho. 2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, who was the chief among the tax collectors, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Yeshua who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up upon a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5 And when Yeshua came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said to him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner (gentile). 8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said to the Master; Behold, Master, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Yeshua said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (Lu 19:1-10)
** Notice that Zacheus was called a “sinner” or “gentile”. It sounds like Zacheus wasn’t being an observant Jew. “… for I have come to seek and save the lost.”
25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which Avinu made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 To you first Avinu, having raised up his Son Yeshua, sent him to bless you, in turning away each one of you from his iniquities. (Ac 3:25-26 )
** One of the “blessings” that Avraham was promised was that Yeshua would turn each of us from our “iniquities” (lawlessness).
But when the time of the promise drew near, which Avinu had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt (Ac 7:17 )
** The promised blessing began many years before Moshe and Aharon arrived to lead them out of Egypt.
Their afflictions were preparing them mentally and physically for the exodus.
Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you feareth Avinu, to you is the word of this salvation sent. (Ac 13:26 )
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. (Ac 13:48)
** Not all of “the seed of Avraham” are being “called” at this time. Only those that have been “pre-destined” to “eternal life” are being “called” now.
Romans 4:1 What shall we then say that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath something to glory about; but not before Avinu. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed Avinu, and it was counted to him for righteousness.
** When Avraham “believed” he “obeyed”.
***“And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” (Ge 22:18)
*** “Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” (Ge 26:5)
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the lawless, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, to whom Avinu imputeth righteousness apart from works,
** Because we “believe” in the life, death and resurrection of Yeshua, we use this “access” to have our sins forgiven. This particular “righteousness” is imputed “outside” of our “normal” Torah observance. Our sins, the result of disobeying the Torah, are forgiven by “the faith of Avraham”, that is given to his seed.
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom Avinu will not impute sin. 9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10 How then was it reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe (his seed), though they are not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed to them also: 12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
** Because Avraham believed that Avinu could do what He promised, he obeyed everything that he was instructed to do.
He circumcised himself with the same faith that he showed when he believed that he would be the father of many nations.
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they who are of the law are (the only) heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of no effect: 15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. 16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, 17 As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even Avinu, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth those things which are not as though they were. 18 Who against hope believed with hope, that he should become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of Avinu through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to Avinu; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. 23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised Yeshua our Master from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and raised again for our justification.
5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with Avinu through our Master YeshuaHaMeshiach : 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of Avinu. (Ro 4:1-5:2)
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles (lost sheep) through Yeshua HaMeshiach; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it is but a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no man setteth it aside, or addeth to it. 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Meshiach. (Ga 3:14-16 )
** The promise to all of the seed comes through the faith of the one seed, Yeshua. (See below)
And if ye are Meshiach’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Ga 3:29 )
4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A Avinu of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he. 5 They have dealt corruptly with him; they are no longer his children because they are blemished; they are a crooked and twisted generation. 6 Do you thus repay Avinu, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you, who made you and established you?
32:15 But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked; you grew fat, stout, and sleek; then he forsook Avinu who made him and scoffed at the Rock of his salvation. 16 They stirred him to jealousy with strange demons; with abominations they provoked him to anger. 17 They sacrificed to demons that were no elohim, to elohim they had never known, to new elohim that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded. 18 You were unmindful of the Rock that bore you, and you forgot the Avinu who gave you birth. 19 ¶ “Avinu saw it and spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters. 20 And he said, ‘I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness. 21 They have made me jealous with what is no elohim; they have provoked me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people;
5 So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. 7 What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened, 8 as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.” 9 And David says, “Let their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them; 10 let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs forever.” 11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. (Ro 11:5-11)
24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree. 25 Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob” (Ro 11:24-26 ESV)
** “…and you shall bruise his heel..” The Hebrew word translated “heel” is ekev which is the root word for Ya’akov (Jacob).
